Hi, I’m Danielle Black Lyons.

I’m a copywriter, producer, director & creative person. I love to write and tell stories.

I have worked for some pretty great agencies like Wieden+Kennedy, Portland and M&C Saachi, London. I spent several years as a freelance broadcast captioner providing transcription services to the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

During that time I co-founded Textured Waves, a surf collective created to promote the sport of surfing towards women of color with an aim to shift the narrative in modern day surf culture. I also worked as a brand ambassador and athlete for Roxy.

Writing, directing, and producing surf films is a passion of mine. I want to inspire future generations of female surfers to carve their own paths. I equally love to help brands find their voice and tell stories in a new way.

In my free time I can be found scrambling to preserve my Duolingo streak, surfing, gardening, swimming, biking and hiking with my family where I reside in Southern California.
